...delicate trim moulding that we attached to the edge of a 1x5" shelf board. This battery operated brad nailer performed flawlessly, embedding the brads just below the surface of the trim. This tool made our task a joy to accomplish with its dependable operation, easy to use features and now to get the nailer out of my wife's hands. Yes, I made the mistake of letting her try it first!

Have to say I'm loving this cordless nailer! I started running a Paslode Impulse cordless finish nailer about 10 years ago as a cabinet installer, and it sure was nice to ditch the compressor and hoses! The Paslode Impulse was a pretty good tool, but, the gas cartridges were expensive and not everyone carried them. Plus, it seemed like every 2 months or so I'd have to tear down the Paslode for a thorough cleaning--and even with that I seemed to get a fair amount of misfires. Still, it was soooooo nice not to have to lug a compressor around!

I've been out of the biz for awhile and I sold my Impulse nailer a few years back. We recently picked up a 4-plex rental and I wanted to remodel the units and needed a good finish nailer.

I looked at the cordless finish nailers from Dewalt, Senco, and Ryobi, and eventually settled on the Porter Cable when it went on sale for one sixty--less than half what they want for the Dewalt!

I was impressed with the nailer as soon as I opened it--nice size and weight and it looks and feels solid and well-built. The ergonomics are great--everything you need to adjust is easy to access and the LED lights are great! I've completely trimmed out 2 units so far (base, door casing, crown molding, and some chair rail) and I haven't even had to recharge the battery! Not a single misfire yet, and the nail depth is easily adjustable and consistent. This nailer takes a little getting used to as there is about a 1 second delay from when you pull the trigger to when the nail is driven, but, so far it has been great and I would highly recommend this cordless nailer! I'm so happy with it, that I'm going to buy the matching narrow crown stapler. The only negative comment would be that it doesn't come with a case, but for what I paid I'm astonished at what a great value this tool is. Of course time will tell how well it holds up and performs, but so far I am VERY happy with this tool!

I’m an arthritic woman turning 70 next week, and am just not up to fighting with cheap finish nails to put trim in on three remodeled rooms. Bad enough having to be down on my knees without the nailing hassle!

I already own a Porter Cable compressor and 4 nailers, and it's great for doing extensive furniture building or trim work. But it's such a pain to have to lug the compressor and hose around when I just need to shoot a few nails. Plus, of course, the compressor is super loud. I really love those nailers so I decided to stay with the same brand for the cordless nailer. It works great! Virtually no learning curve for using it; it's very intuitive.

I will say that it's much heavier and slower than a pneumatic nail gun, but that's to be expected. It is worth noting, though, that the weight distribution is different from some other brands of cordless nailers where the motor is underneath, kind of along the nail bay -- this one is at the top, and I find it contributes to faster arm fatigue and makes it a bit harder for me to shoot nails as precisely since it's so top-heavy. But, overall, it hasn't been a deal breaker.

I took off one star because it appears that no case exists for this tool at all through Porter Cable. In this day and age, a tool with no case is crazy, frankly. Now I have to spend time looking for a generic case that will fit instead of having a branded case molded specifically to the tool. (The branding helps remind me what's in the case when I'm looking at all the different tools in my shed.)

Researched nail guns for the do it yourselfers and this one was recommended. Glad I went with it, had a problem with the first one I received returned it and a replacement was received within 2 days. I have not had any problems with the replacement. A good nail gun at a reasonable price. Glad I bought it.

I bought this during prime days and am very pleased I did! I wanted a nail gun that didn't have to be tied to my air compressor. It's a little heavy with a 2 amp hour battery but that makes it pretty solid when nailing with minimal shake. the lights aren't great on it but are adequate for me. There's a half second or so delay after you pull the trigger before it shoots a nail but I'm getting used to it. Overall I think it's a fine and convenient tool! * EDIT* This nail gun stopped working 88 days into the 90 day satisfaction guarantee. I contacted PC and explained the problem. At first they wanted me to ship it to a service center , after I explained to them I was in the middle of a big project they immediately shipped me a new one. I highly recommend PC tools as I have been using them for over 15 years without issue and the customer service has been excellent on this first problem. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cordless nailer at a good value price
Reviewed in Canada on March 14, 2017
Picked up one of these Porter cordless nailers as I've been looking for one for a while and having done a lot of research and looking at the various brands, this one seemed to fit the bill for my diy/hobby woodworking needs at a great price - I looked at the Ridgid and Dewalt ones (I'm a big Dewalt fan/user for most of my other tools), but they are quite a bit more expensive and didn't seem like they were any 'better' really for the extra $. Also considered the Ryobi but was a bit put off by some of the reviews I read on it - so I settled on this Porter one and have to say, I'm loving it so far!

I did briefly consider going the 'normal' nailer router, but just don't want the noise and hassle of a compressor, dragging hoses around etc for what is a relatively low-use tool it's just not worth it for me. For what I want, cordless was the way to go - nice and portable, you can just grab the tool and do your nailing job and be done with it. I'm not a super heavy user, just diy around the house and quite a lot of hobby woodworking. This tool has fit the bill perfectly.

If you're a higher volume user then you're probably going to be better off with one of the Dewalt 20v nailers, but that was overkill for me - this is plenty powerful enough, I've sunk maybe 400-500 nails with it so far, varying lengths from 3/4" to full 2", into 1x and 2x pine and some 1/2" mdf while building various things and it's worked flawlessly - not one single missfeed, all the nails sunk to uniform depth no issues at all. I've been left wondering how on earth I coped without this tool!

There's no 'bump' mode on this nailer, initially I thought it was a feature I'd like but honestly for my simple needs I just don't miss having it - being forced to go slower and a bit more carefully is actually a benefit for me.

The safety in the handle is pretty fiddly - but again, I'm actually glad of it from a safety perspective, I have young kids and while they don't play with the nailer, I'm glad of the extra safeguard. I keep the battery away from the tool when it's not in use and unload it anyway.

The nailer is super easy to use - I was testing it out literally right out of the box. Just plug the battery on, drop in a row of nails and close up the magazine, safety off and push the tip against the work surface. Squeezing the trigger spins up the motor for maybe a second and sinks the nail. It's surprisingly quiet to use as well - a little whirring when you pull the trigger, a 'thwack' as the nail sinks.

In the box you get the nailer, one Porter 20v battery, charger and a small selection of brad nails to get you started. I've added a few unboxing pics.

Takes a little getting used to versus air-powered nailers, due to the delay of about 1 second between you pulling the trigger and it firing. There's two fairly bright led lights which are handy for nailing in my dimly lit garage. Battery wise, I've charged fully once and have sunk 400-500 nails with this tool now so no issues there.

The depth gauge is a bit fiddly and feels a bit plasticky/imprecise, but it works well. The nailer feels decent quality overall, not super heavy duty but feels like it'll last. It's fairly weighty, but the balance is nice and you need the weight to counteract the force of the nail being sunk. Feels solid and stable to use.

Minor con - there's no bag or case supplied - I like to take care of my tools and having a bag like the Dewalt ones with this would have been nice to keep everything together tidily.

Overall though I'd highly recommend this cordless nailer, I think Porter got it right with this tool (nailed it!?) - good build quality, works great and a good price relative to the competition. If you're looking for an 18ga cordless nailer I don't think you'll beat this without spending a lot more $, perfect for the homeowner and diy-er.

Hope that helps.

Hope that helps.

muy practico de usar, material resistente, muy cómodo por ser inalámbrico no te complicas con cables o mangueras para aire, un poco elevado el precio pero es una muy buena inversión, recomendado

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant pin gun

Only drawback is that you need a 230v to 110v adapter for UK use. Even with that additional cost ( about £20 ) , it is a better gun than most 2nd fix guns I have used, at any price.
